A strange criminal mastermind has stolen one of the pyramids in Egypt, dazzling a fit envy in evil genius Gru, who hasn’t controlled to make headlines given that he and his minions steal the Times Square JumboTron years back. When Gru was a little boy, he always dreamed of going to the moon. Now, if Gru can construct a rocket and acquire powerful shrink-ray, he can cement his reputation as the greatest thief born by stealing the Earth’s satellite right out of the sky. But right after Gru heists the shrink-ray, the cunning super-nerd Vector jumps in and takes in right out of his hands. Now, in order to pursue his dream, to claim the moon, Gru must first get the weapon from Vector. Equipped with knowledge that his rival has a mean sweet tooth, Gru adopts cookie-selling orphans Margo, Agnes and Edith and commissions a new line of cookie-like robots from his personal weapons specialist, Dr. Nefario. But as Gru and his tiny yellow cronies prepare to pull off the biggest heist in history, something odd happens. Gru realized that the three little girls who came into his life are much more than simple hocks. They truly appear to care about Gru, and it turns out the tricky evildoer makes a pretty excellent father. When Gru realizes that his approaching moon mission collides with a ballet recital by the girls, he must make up his mind on what is more important – being a present father or cementing his despicable reputation one and for all.
